I’m excited you’re here!
To be entirely honest, I stumbled into this. But it kind of feels like that’s how the very best things happen, right? You’re just walking along one day and poof, dreams you didn’t even know you had are coming true.
Ok, ok. I guess it wasn’t that magical, but a girl can pretend, right? Here’s how my story really went…
I was a focused and diligent student throughout school. I was home-schooled until 7th grade, so I was able to have a little more flexibility to pursue the things I really liked. I didn’t know it at the time, but the way I could zip through spelling and grammar lessons was a pretty solid forecast for what was to come. I attended a fairly well-known private college preparatory school here in California and excelled in the classes that required solid communication. Whether it be speech, creative writing, debate, or even college essays, it all came so naturally to me.
After finishing my Bachelor’s Degree in Los Angeles, I worked in the restaurant industry for a few years while I looked for the perfect place to start my career. That never came and I ended up just getting really good at talking to people, selling things, and creating a true and meaningful experience for my customers. I managed a few restaurants and loved every minute of it.
I got pregnant with my son in 2017 and moved back out of Santa Cruz, my hometown, to start life on the Central Coast. After my son was born a little premature, a work-from-home support role for a local software development company dropped into my lap. I had no idea what I was doing but, a short year later, I was managing their sales communication too.
Since then, I’ve also taken on a key communication role for a business management group in San Luis Obispo and a Project Coordinator position for Elevatd Media. These roles have stretched me in various ways and have shown me just how passionate I am about systems for great communication and the ability to personalize an experience for a client.
So, where does that leave me?
As I worked on helping Elevatd Media grow during the pandemic, a time not at all favorable for a business like that, I started coming to a very slow realization.
My whole life, people close to me have urged me to start a business. I loved the idea of entrepreneurship and I knew that my self-driven nature thrives with a business challenge, but I would always shy away and say “I just don’t have anything I care that much about to start a business for it.” But recently, it hit me.
I LOVE small business, I LOVE the go-getter attitude it takes, I LOVE using my adoration for effective and creative communication to help others, and I really LOVE getting to know people and learning about the things they hold dear.
But even more so, I really love women. I know that a lot of people say that female friendships are thin and fleeting, but I really just LOVE women. I love the blend of tenacity and softness. I love the beauty and brains. I love a woman who isn’t afraid to make a splash, be loud, push boundaries, and just do her thang. I really think I was just born a natural hype girl.
And THAT’S how I stumbled into this. I can’t quite describe the feeling I get thinking about everything the future might hold for this dream of mine, but I have a good feeling you know exactly what I mean.
